Monroe Infrared wants to continue earning your trust and your business.  Their mission is to help you use thermography to differentiate & grow your inspection business. They have trained nearly two hundred home inspectors in the last 2 years to make better use of their infrared camera in their inspections as well as in their sales & marketing.

Track 2: Stucco, EIFS and Manufactured Stone (Adhered Masonry Veneer)

Lynn DeGeorge will conduct an unusual seminar on stucco, EIFS and manufactured stone (adhered masonry veneer). This will include an overview of Traditional Hard Coat Stucco, EIFS, Inspection techniques along with reporting tips and information.

Adhered Masonry Veneer (manufactured stone), how it “should” be installed , how to identify, inspect and report.

The BONUS…an overview of the 2012 IRC changes that relate to all of these cladding systems.

Track 2: Framing Inspections with MLAW

MLAW's Christopher Copeland with review MLAW framing plan and lateral bracing plan, New lumber design value changes, Live loads, Dead loads, Tributary area, Line load,

Point load, Deflection ratio, Review the load values on our roof plan and how they generate forces to upper level, Review how loads are moved from roof to ceiling, Review floor system design, trusses, TJI'S who does what?
Discussion of how point loads need to be reviewed in advance of the floor system design
PLUS...if time permits: Wind load changes from ASCE 7-05 to 7-10, ASD vs LRFD, How does 115 mph wind equal 90 mph wind?, How does wind load transfer through structure?, What are the values printed on our plans?, How does that generate forces into a shear wall?. How are shear walls designed?

Track 2: Minimum Inspection Requirements for Structural Systems


This two hour course will cover inspecting Structural Systems according to the Texas Real Estate Commission newly adopted Standards of Practice.

In this course, we will discuss requirements for:

  • foundations
  • grading and drainage
  • roof covering materials
  • roof structures/attics
  • interior walls/ceilings/floors/doors
  • exterior walls/doors/windows
  • interior/exterior stairways
  • fireplaces/chimneys, and
  • porches, balconies, decks, and carports.
